Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Wednesday organised a career-focused discussion session at the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), a private university located at Baridhara in the capital.
During the session, Shuvosangho members said that in the present highly competitive job market, academic studies alone is not enough to secure employment for students. The youths also need advanced skills, improved communication skills, technological prowess and practical experience, the Shuvosangho activists said.
Addressing the participating students, Shuvosangho members said, university days are the best period for the youth to develop leadership qualities, practice team-work dynamics, conduct voluntary activities and take part in various training sessions.
Shuvosangho's UITS unit President AEM Fahim Hossain said his organisation would continue to hold such discussions in the future to help the young generation prepare for the job market.
